DS-x2 Renewed!
A year has passed since we got that, and I quote "ugliest design ever". Reason enough to put DS-x2 in a brand new coat.
And so we got to work. The result of months of hard work coding the entire website again from scratch has paid off (at least, that's what we hope). From a dark DS-x2 we went back to the more familiar light colors, hoping this one won't make any more eyes bleed.
Apart from the graphical changes, we also added a bunch of new features to the site. Filtering news by platform, viewing the latest headlines from the forums or the main site, commenting on games or reviews and much, much more. In the very near future we'll also transfer the content from Wii-x2, to create one big merged portal for all your Nintendo-news.
Of course it's highly likely that you'll encounter some errors while exploring our renewed site. Unfortunately, we did not have all the time in the world to iron out every little thing, or find every single bug for a particular browser. If you do find something odd, please let us know through the contact-forms and we'll try to fix the problem a.s.a.p.
This leaves us with only one issue remaining, and that is to wish you a happy 2007 and fun exploring the new DS-x2!

Who said the old one was ugly this is not viewtiful. Its so ugly it does not deserve to see the light of day
I never thought it was that bad when it was up, but looking back however I can see that it was pretty dull really.
I love it! It's like the shiny whiteness of the Wii! Liking the speech bubbles for comments, my only gripe is the placement of the Google ads on the right, which make it look like a Freewebs site.
I tried to tweak the colors a little on the test-domain with blue-ish tints, yet that didn't look really great. As for the room on the second and third columns: feel free to make suggestions on how to fill those (10 most recent comments perhaps? Latest reviews? Picture of me?)
nicely done, though I didnt think there was much wrong with the last design or anything. looking forward to you guys merging wii-x2 too, it'll be good to have them neatly together. suggestion for 2nd&3rd columns: I'd say pictures of you are quite a good idea, yeah. who votes for pictures of dennis? Sorry I've been so inactive lately.
News from Wii-x2 should be available from now :) (sidenote: this is comment #19999) [edit] currently transferring the Wii games. Facts should be available, screenshots up to Metroid are available too (remainder comes tomorrow)
switch around the first and second column PLEASE
Sorry Mad Boy, but that's just one thing I can't do. Mainly because the site is designed with columns of these widths to get every reader on every resolution the necessary information (main content should always be visible without horizontal scrolling, even on 640x480). The old layout also got the news in the leftmost column, so I don't really see the problem... :/
That merge seems to have gone very well if you ask me.
I like the new design just fine. I had no idea the old one was considered "ugly". :-)
Sorry but I don't like it. I'm unable to access the site with my Mozilla browser (just crashes) and the second column very slightly overlaps the first column when I look at it using Internet Explorer 5.5. I should probably update but I never really use IE.

Well I've used Opera and IE7 and both seem to work just fine.
One thing: the top buttons look slightly pixellated, any chance of clearer buttons?
Which ones do you mean Tellyn? The 'news', 'games', etc or the three miniboxes? As for the browser issues: the site works best under Firefox 2, IE7 and Opera 9 with javascript enabled and a Flash plugin installed. For all other browsers, I might have to add some CSS-rules, but you'll have to help me with finding the problems then (supply a screenshot and short summary and send them to dennis (at) ds-x2.com)
well, i was quite surprised when i opened this page today, realizing i havent been to my favourite nintendo based website ;) in quite some time. Anyways it looks slick,beautiful and any other term you would possibly use for something this "hawt". on a side note, that ff CC movie looks unbelievable for a ds game. (that IS a ds game right?) and pps, any1 with halo 2 and xbox live add HH raine. ;) i want to get to know you ds-x2 guys alittle more.

Too White
The headlines only appear in incredibly small font. Should look into that. Might just be my browser but u should look into it anyway.

no offence, but this is ugglier and messed up in opera
It's VERY white.. but it does look more professional than the other one. The comments look messed up in IE6, btw. The black borders don't meet--especially when the "Modified on.." tag is there.
Who said it was an Ugly design before? i liked it alot! Now this one i dont really like.. its too White.. but maybe its just me.. :(

another thing, wouldn't it be possible to move the text column to the middle? a lot easier for reading (and prettier)
I hate this new design should've went with a navy blue, just me I hate this much......white.
I agree I would enjoy a Baby Blue background more.

doesnt matter which layout you guys put, im used to all of them and im sure ill get used to this one
It looks pretty good. The space to the right looks a little empty with nothing but the forum headlines, but hopefully that will fill up soon enough.
