Privacy
We deal with users who filled in real-life information. We promised we won't sell your email-address, but here's the official background to that.
Privacy statement
We take your privacy seriously. Because we gather certain types of information about our users, we want to help you understand what exactly we're collecting and why we do that. This privacy statement discloses the types of information we gather and how we use it.
1. What information do we collect?
In short, we collect information in five ways. First there's information about yourself in the useraccounts you can freely register at Nintendo-x2.com or its relatives (such as DS-x2.com and Wii-x2.com). This information partly used for confirming your account (using your email-address as a verification method), just so we know we're dealing with you and not someone else trying to use your details. Other information such as your gender and location, are solely used for our own understanding; We want to know what crowds are visiting our sites.
Secondly we ask for information during contests. When participating in a contest, we ask for your name, address and age. The name and address are used to send the prizes to you directly (in case you win any of them), just so we don't need to bother you again. The age question is once again used for our own understanding. This way we get an understanding on which age-groups are interested in the products offered in the contest.
The third way of gathering information on our side is through our visitor-tracking scripts. Every page you request on our server results in a small entry in our logfiles. These logfiles are used to determine how many visitors we had in a certain timeframe, to conclude which articles were more interesting than others or what type of browsers our visitors are using to visit us.
Now there's some information we store on your computer. Don't worry, it's perfectly normal on the World Wide Web to store information using a so-called 'browser-cookie'. Using this small file (which you can delete manually using your browser preferences) we store information so we can directly log you in again when you return to Nintendo-x2.com at a later time or to set your filters again or stay logged in. These cookies do not contain any sensitive information.
The fifth, and final way we may possibly collect information is through our sponsors. We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our website. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.
2. What is our practice regarding cookies?
Your Internet browser has a feature called cookies, which stores small amounts of data on your computer about your visit to our site. You do not need to have cookies turned on to visit most of our sites, although active participation in certain areas of our sites may require cookies. By adjusting your settings on your browser, you may select not to allow cookies to be collected.
3. Do we spread this information?
Most certainly not! All the information you ever supplied to us stays between us. The only information we do share, is the amounts of visitors we got and, in rare occassions, the names and addresses of winners of contests (solely for the purpose of sending prizes and acknowledging our visitors on who won a certain contest).
The only reason we might share your information with any other company is when we've got a contest running sponsored by a third party (such as a publisher) to let them know who won the prize(s).
We will never, ever sell your information, unless we are obligued to do so by court of law.
