ETC Improve DS-x2

While people keep visiting DS-x2 (and Wii-x2, which recently hit a new daily-record), the forum and comments-sections are turning more or less dead. Is this your chance to step up?

Hence why I ask all of our readers to come up with ideas on how to improve the community-feeling of the site. Do we need some kind of rating-system for comments? Do you want to have your own personal blogs/page on DS-x2? Perhaps we need a tell-a-friend mailform?

What does DS-x2 need in your opinion? We can't promise we'll implement your idea, but we hope we can improve DS-x2 by all means.

Please share your ideas with us using the comments-section below or through the dedicated topic on our forums.

  • Wii-X2 needs a new layout much more desperately than here.

  • jedibmoney: not at all. That's what I meant with the blog-like feature. NPC: the problem is that you don't want to publish user-content directly on the front page or anything alike. The reason? Spammers, people like the previously mentioned fuckman, etc...

  • oh! I have an idea! Instead of people submitting news, why not have a seperate user-news section!

    NPC, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • Dennis. what i mean by a profile comment section is like Comments everyone can see. Ala Myspace. lol. It came in my head doring school. sorry if it sounds retarded.

  • I really only come here for the news anyway. I really could care less about the community (there are some cool people here, but there are also a lot of people like sir fuckman up there that I could do without). I'm not really worried too much about new features. Speaking of a new layout, is Wii-x2.com going to get a makeover sometime?

  • To be honest, a new layout has been in the works for a few months now, as well as a prototype on a games wish/own list (actually that one's online already, yet not activated ;)) Jedibmoney: what do you mean with the profile comment section?

    Dennis, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • Id say you guys should get a better layout, have some more options. Cant think of any, maybe like more stastics on people in the comments. How many posts, online or offline, also like what they do in witendofi.com they show what games you own and show your freind code for nintendo wifi. Maybe you can add that in profile, a users game list. I dont know alot of things can be done here lol.

  • the only ideas that come to mind are A profile comment section. Member reveiws. And of corse a blog.

    jedibmoney, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • err...... maybe put polls about games, systems, etc... i mostly just come here for news and reviews though... its kind of fun reading the dumb comments some people make, like that "fuckman" guy

  • @ shinneri: We can be Moderators for it.

  • fuckman you are on the wrong website.

    theking, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • Or you could have a certain format and rating system that everyone must follow. And if someone posts a particularly bad review (ex: "PAH! THIS IS TEH SUCK! The End."), you could have some sort of system where the review could be reported and then the staffers would know to check it out and (probably) remove it.

    shinneri, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • I agree with Andrew.

    Matthew DS-x2, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • Reader reviews would be great but someone would have to check them before they were posted to keep up the quality.

    Andrew, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • shinneri has some good ideas. as for blogs, I dunno.. I mean, people come to this site for the info (at least I do) and not so much for the forum. maybe form an allience with a different gamers community, that doesnt have an news section?

    yakutatazu, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • I think you should merge DS-x2 and Wii-x2. Then you could just have a toggle to 'Only show DS/GBA' or 'Only show Wii.' It would make things easier and maybe increase traffic. Allowing (registered) users to submit game reviews for the site would be really nice, too. And maybe these reviews should have comments. :)

    shinneri, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • who said anything about removing it? :)

    Dennis, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • If it's what makes you happy, why not? It's easy enough to add a comments-like feature on the profile-pages, only editable for yourself. Wouldn't allow scripting though due to security reasons ;)

    Dennis, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • lol. with a blog on DS-X2 it would be almost like Myspace.
