DS-x2 Needs Staffers
Wanted: people interested in the Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance or Wii scene and willing to share their findings.
People come and go, but DS-x2 remains. And hence why we're always looking for new flesh to strengthen our news team. At the moment we're looking for multiple individuals willing to join the DS-x2 staff.
What are we looking for?
Newsposters for DS-x2 Newsposters at DS-x2 need to be updated on the Wii, Nintendo DS or Game Boy Advance scene by themselves. Regularly, preferably on a daily basis, you can find the time to write a decent newsarticle based on the latest happenings and announcements. Of course news also comes with images. Screenshots, photographs and more. For this reason you also need to be able to edit images. Do you know how to use a graphical application? Can you resize images? Remove annoying borders from screenshots? Can you put a watermark on an image?
If you recognize yourself in the above, please continue reading and answer the following questions for yourself: - Is this just a fling, or do I really want to join the site and keep working on it for a decent time? - Can I actually bring in content, or did I always find all my daily news right here? - Do I write decent English, or can I only write in txtspk, l33t or EvEn WorSeOMGWTF? - Do I know basic HTML? Do I know the codes to make text bold, add a hyperlink or even place an image? - Would I be interested even if I would not get paid? - Can I write Dennis an email at: recruitment@ds-x2.com?
If, and only if, all of your answers to the above were "yes" please drop us a line at recruitment@ds-x2.com. If possible, supply a sample article on any Nintendo-related topic you prefer with your application.

ok. i put my App in. i just need a copy of the watermark to update the images. Seriusly. between this and the Jedi Knight 2 clan im in i need to keep busy this summer.
im never gonna be on time with articles. but seriusly i have NewsNOW on my desktop all the time.

I would do this but I can't watermark images, lacking Photoshop and photo editing programs.
A good program for watermarking images is Gimp, which is a free program that you guys can get online.

Well, there is a new option in the CMS nowadays which more or less puts the watermark on the images. Unfortunately it's not 100% perfect yet. Most important things are that you [i]want[/i] to do it, [i]like[/i] to write and got the time to spare.
The only thing on that list I can't do is the watermark. Haha, sounds really easy, but I just don't feel like messing with it. That said, I'll probably try next time a position's available.

Wow everyone's so negative. I think I'll start writing my application. :P
Most of the regular news comes through press releases anyway. Checking a few press-sources daily brings in 60% of all news already. I wouldn't bother on that point the most if I were you.
i wish i was familiar with some form of graphical program.
man the only thing i think i cant do is find new news... i have photoshop..i know HTML well.. at least i think i can write moderately good (not like "L337 H4XX0R" ect..) well.. not sure about the watermark.. im sure i could learn that
I can do all of that...but I'm a terrible writer and I only find useless news.
hmmmm. i was intrested the last time you asked and i still am.
If I had the time I would help you guys out but my schedule has been too busy here lately to do anything,Hell Im lucky if I get in 30 mins of gaming a day nowdays...
