Microsofts Origami Project Featuring Handheld Games
Microsofts minisite for their Origami project, turns out to be a portable media player... with gaming possibilities.
Bill Gates won't be happy on breaking the news early, but due to a small mistake by a PR company, the Origami project has been revealed. While the official website for the project still reads teasing messages such as 'Do you know me?' and 'Do you know what I can do?', PR agency Digital Kitchen accidentally placed the revealing flashmovie, showcasing the Origami project in full, in a public folder.
The Origami project turns out to be a portable tablet-sized mediaplayer. In the promotional video, the device is used a drawing tablet, communication device, mediaplayer, GPS-based navigator and even... a handheld gaming platform. Whether or not Microsoft is planning to actively participate in the handheld scene with the Origami project, remains unknown for the moemnt.

You would have thought Tiger figured it out with the massive horror that was the Game.COM ... oh well, some never learn. :)
okay that is butt ugley to start, it's way to big to compete with ipod & ds and it looks more like a tablet pc.
who ever said that size is the final product?
ahh.. i don't think it even comes close to a handheld device. I would never get it solely for the games. The controls on that thing looks disgusting.
ds ripoff kinda besides who would want that huge thing just too buy all that software for ur computer an cell phone.. besides it looks like somethin that would be seriously slowto begin with
this will never compete as a portable device, market is much too small... But as a mini-laptop thats pretty sleek. Might buy one if there that flexable.
Thats bigger than the power adapter for the 360. :O!
I hope they dont focous on Gaming...cause if its a Xbox Handheld...it will be more media...well it seems more marketed at 40 year olds who need GPS and media so they dont get lost.
dennis thank you for the delete button :D
but i jus read tht bill gates didnt want to compete with the ipod. o well this has confused me greatly
its a cool laptop if it costs like 170+ but if its a hand held why does microsoft make evrey thing soooo big
Gizmondo, Tiger made it, Microsoft was going to develop games for it. A few months after it hit the UK, Gizmondo was cancelled due to no popularity. Now Tiger have lost a few million due to it.
Whatever happened to Project Gizmodo? I thought that was supposed to be Microsoft's handheld console. Besides, all of the information that has been released so far indicating that this is going to be nothing more than a Pocket PC with Windows operating system.
We do have the 'delete' button for your comments now. You could use that if you want to delete your first post and add the text to your second one ;)
If it's cheap enough (unlikely) I'd want one, not for games mind.
Sexy delete button Dennis. Now all we need is an edit button! ;) On topic, the Origami looks nice, but it would be too expensive for my likings. Tempting though, oh Dennis, can we have a Revo-X2? Sounds good :P
Nice try using the Asian chick ... you ain't winning our Japanese breathern THAT easy, MS. Oh, one more thing ... PORTABLE? Hell no. Might as well drag a laptop or tablet with you ... Who the HELL would take that around for portable gaming? Classic.
Speaking of features: I opened up a topic on the forum asking what features you guys would like to see on DS-x2. Head over to the suggestions-boards if you got a suggestion (or more). Your help is greatly appreciated.
