ETC old.ds-x2.com Launched

As some readers have reported malfunctions on DS-x2 since the new design, the old version of the site has been made available. Update Want to help improve DS-x2? Head over to the forums then.

Available at old.ds-x2.com, the previous version of DS-x2 is accessible. However some functions have been removed from the old design (i.e. the Latest Reviews section and the miniboxes at the top) plus, some of the newer functions (such as the DS-x2 Nintendo WiFi Connection Program) are not available on old.ds-x2.com.

While we try to figure out what exactly is going wrong, we offer you the possibility to still read your GBA and DS news at DS-x2.

  • The ability to not open windows in a new tab is very disappointing. Plus I prefer the old layout, so thanks Dennis for making it available :)

  • well, i found out that for new on the main page, i can just use the tab thing on the news pictures.

  • I was already thinking about placing a small image or text to open the link in a new window/tab. However sIFR, the technology allowing the custom fonts, does not seem to allow to place an image on the same line as the link. I've got to do a little research for that. If it appears to be impossible, I could always remove the custom font for that particular class and use a default text-link instead. I'll open up a topic on the forums for some more discussion. Reactions scattered across newsposts aren't exactly that helpful :)

  • Since everyone else is trying to contribute to the site somehow, I guess I could be one of the dudes who could try to draw you a new logo if you want, Dennis. Anyway, the most annoying thing about the new design is definitely the fact that you can't open news stories from the main page to new tabs in Mozilla / Firefox using Ctrl + mouseclick. ...And the link that you click on that says "Full story (comments: #) should be in text like it used to.

  • And if someone could email me screenshots and descriptions about what's going/looking wrong for you, that would help greatly. :) (dennis at ds-x2 dot com)

  • for some reason, i can't open a new tab for link on the new site in firefox. for example: clicking the scroll wheel on a link to make it open in another tab.

  • The new design rocks IMO.

  • My loading times aren't bad at all.

  • Despite the slightly longer loading times. This site is much better than the old one, in my opinion.
