NDS Mario Kart DS US Launch Event

Turn on your engines, start the Wi-Fi Connection service and have a bite in that hamburger of yours during the Mario Kart DS launch event in the US.

McDonald's will hosts the US launch event for Mario Kart DS and the revolutionary Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Experience the video game as the legendary franchise hits the Nintendo DS on its first day in the hands of the public at the Mario Kart DS "Pit-Stop".

No setup is required as gamers simply launch the game in the proper mode on this ground-breaking day – made possible by Nintendo's latest agreement with Wayport. The union brings free access, via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, to millions of Nintendo DS users in more than 6.000 McDonald's restaurants across the United States.

Players will be avoiding banana peels, homing Red Shells and Chain Chomps as they are some of the first to become part of Nintendo's worldwide online community.

But there's more apart from the Nintendo DS itself. Life-size legends themselves, Mario and Ronald McDonald, will be flipping the (imaginary) switch to turn on the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and cheering on players as they zip around the virtual racetrack along with members of Team Nintendo.

For our US readers, the event will be held at the McDonald's at 600 N. Clark in Chicago, IL 60610. The event will take place on Monday, Nov. 14, 11 a.m. – noon.
