NDS Updated Battles of Prince of Persia - First Facts

The prince is back, but not in its original form... Konami would've surely called this game "Prince of Persia Acid" instead of Battles of Prince of Persia. Update More facts and the first five screenshots of the game to be found inside...

Instead the original action-packed Prince of Persia games we already knew, Ubisoft has decided to take a different approach for the Nintendo DS version: card-based battling!

Set between the stories of Sands of Time and Warrior Within, the prince 'accidentally' starts a war between Persia and India by releasing an ancient evil. In the game, players will command units and troops, as well as control fights via a card-battle system.

Currently, both single and multiplayer features are said to be included. Where the single-card wireless feature will allow head-to-head battles, players will also be able to play a hotseat game with friends using only one Nintendo DS, or trade cards with other players.

Whether this game replaces the earlier announced Prince of Persia: Warrior Within or is a second Prince of Persia-game for the Nintendo DS, remains unknown for the moment.

Battles of Prince of Persia?s storyline takes place between Prince of Persia The Sands of Time and Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. The game will focus on the appearance of the Dahaka and how the Prince, while trying to rid himself of the terrible creature, ignites a conflict between Persia and India by releasing an ancient evil that has caused much death and devastation. Players will be able to battle it out from not only the Prince?s perspective, but also from that of several Generals who hold key roles in the conflict between the nations.

Features:

  • New depth in tactical gameplay: A host of original rules bring a fresh depth to tacticals games.
  • Collect and trade cards: By advancing in the single player mode, collect money and purchase new cards to trade and make more powerful decks. Don?t like your cards? Trade them with your friends.
  • Intricate storyline: Follow the story from the point of view of any of the participants and learn what happens to the Prince and his land between the stories of Prince of Persia Sands of Time and Prince of Persia Warrior Within.
  • Nine different characters: Play any of the nine Generals in single player or in multiplayer. Create the army you want from any of the three factions and 27 units.
  • Multiplayer mode: Fully customizable multiplayer mode ensures replay value. Challenge someone who has the game or someone who doesn?t in either Multiboot mode or Hotseat.

  • Please let this be a different title to the previously anounced game. However I think this game may actually be quite good, just wonder wether it will be 3D or not.

  • It looks 3D to me, ala Age of Empires... Isn't there still a traditional 3D PoP game in development for the DS? I remember gba.n64europe reported a while back that Warrior Within DS was pushed back to 2006...
