Worms DS

The war-loving worms are heading to the Nintendo DS, and this time it isn't just a rumour based on the statements on the possibilities of the game.

THQ is bringing the war-loving worms to both the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP. The award-winning gameplay that has made the brand evergreen for almost a decade will be retained, while both versions will incorporate a raft of new features that will make the most out of the technical capabilities of the hardware, layout of controls, play patterns of mobile gamers and capacity for multiplayer of both handhelds.

  Yeay! Can't beat a good old game of Worms.. Design your own level using the touchscreen?! Trade your levels with friends!??! Would THQ/Team17 actually bother?

  Sounds like this game could be as great as the PC ones ^_^ Though I'm a lil skeptical, they say they'll make the most out of the hardware for each console - but how different will the 2 versions actually be? The DS has far more potential to make this game great but if they design it for the PSP and pretty much just port it to the DS then it could mebbe suck a lil.. well as much as a Worms game can suck lol

  This has been known for quite a while now. PALGN.com.au broke this news back in Feb when they had an interview up with the head-leader of the series - http://palgn.com.au/article.php?id=1949 Good news regardless. It'll be awesome to see the series in all it's 2D madness on the DS.

  @Wonderboy: I knew about that interview. However, that's Team17 saying they <i>intend</i> to bring the game to the handhelds, not a mention of either THQ or confirmation of the game actually coming. This is official information from THQ. :)

  I wonder if they are going to stay with the original Worms (MS-DOS) version, or Worms World Party, or the latest 3D Worms system. I like the World Party system the best.

  Worms Armageddon/Worms World Party please! The 3D ones are the worst, why do they still make em 3D? Also, Lemmings cant come to the PC as (i think) its being developed by Psygnosis, and Sony own them.
