Miyamoto Interview In NOM
The UK's Nintendo Official Magazine (NOM) shows an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto. More fuel for an online DS, or is Miyamoto throwing water on the fire?
The latest edition of NOM features an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto. In the interview, Miyamoto talked about the Nintendo DS:
With Reggie Fils-Aime talking about 'online' at the next E3, Miyamoto is using more careful words here. Whether it's the Nintendo DS used as a PDA in a child's eyes or potentially linking the Nintendo DS to a wireless router in order to get it 'online', Miyamoto doesn't explicitly state Nintendo's plans with the Nintendo DS."our target user is everyone: people aged from 5 to 95. And if you look at that wide user base, you have children who see their parents with PDAs and so on. So there's a lot of appeal for kids to use the DS and the stylus for its chat capabilities. And it's possible for someone with a wireless router in their home to potentially link up the Nintendo DS to that router, their computer and the Internet, and then to potentially link up to other instant messenging programs."

The things Miyamoto say here look awfully similar to what he said at the round table interview from last year's E3. So in a way this "news" is extremely old. Source: http://ds.ign.com/articles/541/541907p3.html
That's funny. Those are almost the exact words used in NOM #151. Either Miyamoto has a great memory, or...
i hope the DS will be able to chat with other instant messenging programs like AIM, like he mentioned.
Nom #151, thats the issue he has an interview. I'm getting #152, they will have a free DS game case.
Let us know what it's like when you get it.
That would be cool nine9cents. All my friends have AIM, but none of them have DS. Though I have AIM, too... It would just be cool to talk on my DS though!
