Rumour: Nintendo DS WiFi Revealed
The Nintendo DS has online capabilities, no doubt there. A new rumour from Japan...
According to a dodgy-looking Japanese website (hosted on a French server), the Nintendo DS is going online. Nintendo will release a WiFi USB stick to connect your Nintendo DS with your PC. From that point, the Nintendo DS will be able to use your PC's internet connection to connect to other players around the world. The website even shows a picture of the USB 2.0 stick:

However, we should take this news with a pinch of salt. The website this came from is actually an altered version of a mirrored article by the Japanese gamessite GameWatch. To make things worse, the original article and the title of the 'new' version are both referring to an article on the Play Yan, the media player from Nintendo.
Whether we can believe the dodgy mirror or not, we don't have a clue. However, the idea of the Nintendo DS going online through a USB WiFi stick sounds fair.

Dodgy indeed. If this is so, then i'm assuming that it'll need some software for the PC. If they don't make this OS X compatible I'll petrol bomb their HQ :P Couldn't they just have a device that plugs into the phone socket, like a modem, and goes on without a computer?
Cableman: many things leak. We knew about the NDS price, launchdate, packaging, VIP pack, etc for about 2 weeks already. Not to metion other things ;)
thats juss a ds with a usb stickin outta it
The fact that the DS is going online (In February for America) is true. But I bet this piece of equipment is fake, although would be a similar design to what Nintendo would make.
Nine- it is a USN plugin attached to a DS -style peripheral. And I am beginning to see some legitimacy in this, after all, it does look like a very nintendo design. And Jeff, where did you here that the US was going online in february? because I havent seen or heard any of this
