Three Times More DS Than PSP
Sony Computer Entertainment has announced its sales figures for Japan. Head inside to see how much more Nintendo managed to sell...
Sony Computer Entertainment has announced its sales figures for Japan. In the timeperiod between December 12, 2004 (the official PSP release date in Japan) and January 9, 2005 Sony managed to sell approximately 540.000 PSPs in Japan.
Nintendo recently struck 1.500.000 sold Nintendo DS units in Japan alone since its release on December 2nd, 2004. With the Nintendo DS being available for a mere 10 days more than the Sony PSP, Nintendo thus managed to sell almost three times the amount of handhelds.
Whether this 3:1 ratio will stay, we think not. With the PSP highly anticipated in the US and Europe, we're sure Sony will strike hard in those regions with the estimated release in March 2005.
