New Pokémon GC Game Titled?
It looks like the title of the new Pokon game for the GameCube has been revealed. Time to get the GBA games out again.
Back in December 2004 our host Cube-europe reported about a new Pokon game in development for the GameCube. The first screenshots came from Famitsu scans showed an RPG-like game, even though many expected a sequel to Pokon Colosseum. Official information on the title was never given.
Today, the story continues. Online reseller Random House has started listing a new book: a game guide for Pokon Colosseum II. So what does this tell us exactly? First of all, the book is set for a release in Canada (and thus most probably the US as well). Even though big titles like this one are almost always released outside of Asia, it's nice to see some confirmation. Secondly, the book is set for a release in July 2005. Why release a game guide if the game isn't released yet? The title might be released in (or before) that period.
Again, Nintendo hasn't officially responded to the story above yet, but we expect to see the first real details on this title soon, at Nintendo's conference for showing the Japanese retailers their line-up for Q1 2005.
So why is this on a GBA/NDS dedicated website? Simply because the Colosseum game (the successor of Pokon Stadium on the Nintendo 64) used the GBA games for input. You could use your pok?mon from your GBA games in the GameCube game to battle. We expect Pokon FireRed, LeafGreen and the upcoming Emerald versions to be compatible with the new Pokon Colosseum II.
