The Brazilian website of Nintendo (managed by Nintendo World) had an interesting newsitem:

Confirmado: o remake de Final Fantasy 3 poder? ser lan?ado para o Game Boy Advance. Quem explodiu a bomba foram os representantes da Square-Enix.

Para quem tem mem?ria curta, o jogo foi cancelado ?s v?speras de invadir o Wonderswan Color. O motivo do veto foram as diverg?ncias com a Bandai, fabricante do videogame.

A palavra oficial da empresa quanto ao lan?amento deve ser pronunciada no Tokyo Game Show, que rola em setembro.

Since most people around here don't speak Portugese, beneath is a rough translation of the above:

Confirmed: the remake of End Fantasy 3 will be able to to be released for the Game Boy Advance. Those who blasted the bomb were the representatives from Square Enix.

For those who have a short memory, the game was cancelled for the Wonderswan Color. The motive for this were the divergences with Bandai, manufacturer of the Wonderswan.

The message came from the company, stating that the launch would be announced in the Tokyo Game Show, in September.

Final Fantasy 3 was indeed in development for the Wonderswan Color, and was indeed cancelled when it was near completion.

So there we have it boys and girls. Dengeki stating 'from a reliable source' that a million-selling game will be announced soon and Nintendo Brazil saying Final Fantasy 3 will be released for the GBA. Let's hope... No, let us pray...
