WII The Last Story Coming to the US?

Is The Last Story getting a release outside of Japan? An unearthed website registration suggests it might be.

In the wake of the announcement of Xenoblade Chronicles getting a release in Europe, as well as the US website appearing, attention has moved towards Nintendo's other role playing game, Mistwalker's The Last Story, and whether that will be getting a release in the West.

Mistwalker's recent track record would suggest that the game would see a release but many have shown trepidation over whether or not Nintendo would be willing to put in the effort to translate the game.

However, a recently found website registration has shown that Nintendo of America have registered thelaststory.com for use in the US, with site taking you to the main North American Nintendo front page.

While it doesn't quite confirm the release of the game in the West, it's a big step in that direction. With E3 only a few months away, could Nintendo be holding back an official announcement of the game until then?

Stay tuned to DS-x2 and we'll keep you posted on any further developments as they come.

  • If the game doesn't sell they would never consider translate the game, that and I am a huge fan of Sakaguchi and Uematsu. That and Sakaguchi mentioned earlier that if the game doesn't sell well, he would consider his style of game design is outdated. So The Last Story could very well be the last JRPG.

  • Wow, I wish I had cash to splash for no reason.

  • Ah, good point. Forgot about that >_> Then the next question: why did you buy it in the first place?

  • I can't play it on my US console anyway, so there is no point opening it up.

  • I'm fully expecting this to be one of Nintendo's announcements for the Wii this year at E3. I'm looking forward to it being officially announced for Europe/NA so I can rest easy in the notion it's coming, just as the Xenoblade announcement has.

  • any particular reason for not unpacking?

  • One can only hope. I spent $75 to import the Japanese copy that I can't even play, it's still sitting in its original packing inside of the original envelope I got from importer (both still sealed), and I will be gladly spend another $50 for it if it ever comes to US.
