Rumour: 3DS release date revealed?

Two different scans of the latest edition of Official Nintendo Magazine (ONM) are floating around on the Internet. One of those scans claims a US and European release of the Nintendo 3DS on March 11, 2011.

yesterday, the first scan of an ONM magazine was revealed by our colleagues from VGTribune. Their scan shows an article about the features of the Nintendo 3DS and also show the release dates for Japan (February 26, 2011) and the US and Europe (both March 11, 2011). As you can imagine, this news reached many other outlet within hours (we waited a little bit, because of the following...)

Several hours later, questions were placed: several other gamers who got their copy of ONM claimed there wasn't a firm date for the US and Europe. Not much later, a second scan appeared on GoNintendo.com showing just that: "March 2011".

As we assume that two different copies of the same magazine is possible (perhaps the date wasn't suppoed to be revealed yet, but the editors didn't want to waste resources spent) but highly unlikely, for now we believe that there is no firm date known to the public yet for the releasedate of the Nintendo 3DS in Europe or the US.

  I'm in doubt. Timing should be somewhere near mid-November or early December to get the hype-train running (it's getting weaker already at the moment), but with Christmas in front of us that might not be the smartest thing to do. I'm in doubt :-/

  I don't think we'll see anything official until after Christmas as Nintendo will want to shift all their DSi stock.
