New 2D Sonic title announced

Although we know next to nothing about this new "Project Needlemouse"-title from SEGA (not even the intended platforms), we do know Sonic returns in a 2D title.

SEGA has released a teaser trailer for their "Project Needlemouse", which turns out to be a new 2D platformer in the Sonic-series. As the usual teaser, the movie (as seen below) reveals next to nothing about the upcoming title. If we're to believe SEGA, it'll be a title as we used to love...

  Most likely it will be like the daytime stages of Sonic Unleashed, which is pretty good but still not as good as a 2D Sonic. It feels more like an on-rail game with quick time events. You don't really control Sonic, you just press left, right, and jump as Sonic run forward.
