GBA SP not compatible?

Checking out Nintendo Japan's site on the GBA SP, terror struck...

It seems like the GBA SP won't be as compatible as Nintendo made it look. Japanese tilt-and-puzzle game "Happy PANETCHU!!" seems not to work on the GBA SP as it should. The game tries to run certain commands on the GBA hardware, which was changed between the GBA and GBA SP designs. Therefor, "Happy PANETCHU!!" seems not to work on the new GBA.

Let's hope this is the only game uncompatible...

  you know, i wondered about that. seing as how they had to compress the internals i figured that some things(e-reader?) wouldn't work

  The E-Reader has been found compatible. For now, it's only this one game which doesn't work.
