ALL Midway looking to sell Mortal Kombat franchise

It seems that Midway's finacial troubles have hit a new low now that they intend to sell their core franchise 'Mortal Kombat'.

Midway have always been known simply because of their Mortal Kombat franchise that has spawned many games, live-action films, live-action shows and cartoons. However Midway has been in a lot of finacial trouble as of recently and due to not making enough money with their recent Mortal Kombat title, which was Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, they are looking to sell the Mortal Kombat IP.

Who knows though if another company like Capcom pick up the Mortal Kombat franchise we good see ourselves getting great Mortal Kombat titles. If it doesn't go to a good company though then this may be the end for Mortal Kombat.

  • One report said the likely candidate is Activision-Blizzard. This could get interesting.

  • To be honest, I believe the Mortal Kombat series isn't worth the money anymore. The franchise served its purpose in the past and should be left alone.

  • This is a lot like the last days of Acclaim.

  • Can't say I really care about MK any more. There's some decent characters, but I can't help but feel that its time has passed.
