Nintendo goes Trademark crazy with Pokémon

It seems that Nintendo went trademark crazy late last year with various Pokon titles being trademarked among other things, with some new trademarks being the name of the old Pokon classics on Gameboy.

Below is the list of Nintendo's most recent trademarks, many being of various Pokon titles.

Of course this doesn't mean these games are coming out but more Nintendo protecting the titles. However it does seem strange for Nintendo to trademark Pokon titles of games that are already out.
