Christmas Number One
If you happen to follow these kind of things you'll be well aware that the Need for Speed series has claimed the Christmas Number One spot for several years now. This year things are a little different and not only has this long running racing franchise failed to gain the most sales, the winner isn't even an EA title.
Call of Duty 4 is this years biggest game mostly due to a last minute rush on the title, just before Christmas. This represents Activision's first number one and whilst it wasn't the bookies favorite it was certainly one of ours. We reviewed the DS version some time ago and you can find out what we thought of it by reading our review of Call of Duty 4 for the NDS.

The main reason it was number one in the xmas charts is that it was half price in Gamestation right up to xmas. And now because so many people have been buying it, its gone back up in price to £40-£50. Wish I hadn't traded my copy for the 360 in as I want to start playing online again. Team Fortress 2 just isn't the same because there isn't any team deathmatch.
Everyone I know said it was a great game though. Do you agree?
Oh yes. It is a very good game. I haven't played the DS version but the 360 one was fantastic. Though the single player was a little short, it is still one of the best single player campaigns I have played in a game and easily put Halo 3's campaign to shame. It has some memorable levels in there, with the two sniper levels coming to mind. The online multiplayer is fantastic and the best there is for any console. The Orange Box is great too but as I have said, Team Fortress 2 doesn't hold up to COD4 online. It's good but not quite as good. But for less than £40 now, The Orange Box should be bought buy anyone who has a 360 (PS3 version isn't as good for some reason). Great package and Portal is fantastic.
Portal's just awesome :)
