Ghostbusters Trapped on the DS
80's Classic Movie Heading to Nintendo Handheld
While you are used to hearing about the latest movie tie-in and even the odd Gangster film making it's way to consoles it was a bit of a surprise when Sierra (previously Vivendi Universal) today announced that one of our favourite movies was making it's way to the DS. Ghostbusters has recently been Green Lit for a third CGI outing but the last time it was on a Nintendo handheld was way back with Ghostbusters II on the original GameBoy.
The game, which will be released next year, will feature elements from each movie and the original cast will also be taking on the many voice over roles. That's all we have for now but as soon as we know more, we'll let you know.

It's also coming to the Wii as well just in case anyone was wondering. There has been one screenshot released showing the Stay Puft Marshmallow man being blown up at the base of a building (well I say blown up, more like engulfed in flames but you get the idea.) Also, Ramis and Akyroyd (
Damn! it cut the rest of my comment. Anyway, Ramis and Akyroyd are writing the script for this game. So its going to be a completely new storyline set after the second movie if I remember what i read correctly.
It doesn't tie into a third movie, unfortunately a third one hasn't been greenlit at all due to Bill Murray's unwillingness to cooperate. It's a completely new storyline.
Sorry Tellyn, but I did some work for Universal Studios over the summer and I can tell you it definately is. Just type 'Ghostbusters 3' into Google or go here: http://cisnfm.com/station/blog_mike_mcguire.cfm?bid=17736&m=2&y=2007
didn't we have Extreme Ghostbusters: Code Ecto-1 on GBA? (not connected to a movie, yet a Ghostbusters-title)
Yes, but as you say that was Extreme Ghostbusters.
Wow that's fantastic! Thanks for the info!
I know how you feel. It's one of my favourite movies ever.
