Rumour: Another DS Redesign?

According to our colleagues over at Jeux-France, Nintendo may introduce a new version of the Nintendo DS soon.

Jeux-France's claims are based on the writings in a Japanese magazine called 'Gamelabo'. The article claims that the new Nintendo DS will be targetted at the somewhat older audience, featuring a larger screen to allow for better touch-screen activity such as text-input.

Nintendo has not yet confirmed or debunked the rumour, but we'll keep you up to date if anything is in the clear.

  Rumours like this have been going around since the DS lite was released. I expect a redesign to come again at some point but not until at least next year.

  To be honest, I don't believe the rumours myself. Looking at the DS's lifespan, that also raises my doubts (although it couldn't have happened any earlier). I would be kindly surprised to say the least if this turns out to be true.

  I would hope the rumor to be false. But then again, DS Lite also started out as a rumor in China.
