DVD Playback Dropped?

Originally, Nintendo told us that DVD playback would be possible on the Wii if you bought a small dongle, like the one used for the Xbox.

However, it seems that Nintendo has stopped commenting on this feature, refusing to answer IGN editor Matt Casamassina's questions. The bit about DVD playback has also been covertly dropped from the hardware breakdown on Nintendo's website.

this is still just a rumor. Until we get some more information, all we can do is speculate. September 14th can't come quickly enough.
