Reggie Talks Wii Features- News
Finally, What's Behind That Front Flap is Explained. Update! New Photo!
In the latest Game Informer magazine, Reggie Fils-Aime, now Nintendo of America's President, revealed a couple of tidbits about the Wii. Xbox Live style downloads are on the way for the Wii's Wi-Fi Connection capabilities, though whether these would cost is up to the company providing them.
Reggie suggested that with the Connect24 feature, you could get a new boss if Nintendo's servers recognise the game save on your console has reached a certain point in the game, or a new artifact or weapon.
He also confirmed what was behind the console's front flap - which has caused much speculation among fans. Some have suggested that under it lies projection technology for beaming the game straight onto a wall, while others have speculated it contains connectors for unannounced external features.
"That is where an SD card goes. That's storable media. And on top are the attachments for the GameCube controllers," Reggie revealed.
He left a hint of mystery around the matter, saying that there would be alternate methods for storing game saves and other data, though refused to go into more detail. Until we see under the flap for ourselves, maybe there is something wierd going on..
Update! Under the flap is now visible. The button under the flap reads "SNYC"
Its a mystery to me!
