Site Status
E3 has ended and DS-x2 is returning to its normal state. On a new server that is. Head inside to see what's working and what's not.
DS-x2 has grown throughout the years to a website with a community that was no longer fit for the server it was hosted on. Hence why the DS-x2 staff decided to pick up the site and drop it on a sparkling new server located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
However, some issues arise when transfering a complete website. The new server has to be configured, website parameters and scripts have to be checked against the new environment and, of course, the domainname has to be redirected to the new location of the site.
Just before E3, the DS-x2 website was transferred to the new server. Because we wanted to keep the forums intact and accessible in case of emergency, the domainname was not redirected to the new server. Hence why visitors had to visit us at a temporary URL.
Just after E3, Wii-x2 was transfered to the new server as well. Together with the new location, Wii-x2 also received its own domainname: Wii-x2.com. On Wii-x2, a subset of the DS-x2 staff will keep readers updated on Nintendo's upcoming Wii-console. In case you feel like Wii-x2 could really use you as a newsposter, don't hesitate to contact us through the contact form on DS-x2 or Wii-x2.
Today, we also managed to transfer the DS-x2.com domainname succesfully. From now on, our visitors can once again type 'DS-x2.com' in their browser (in case they haven't bookmarked us already) to visit their daily source of DS and GBA-related news.
Of course we're far from finished. We've still got the forums to reinstall and continu working on new versions of DS-x2 and Wii-x2...
