Indie Developers On The Virtual Console Confirmed

Nintendo have confirmed that the Virtual Console will also be home to games from indie developers.

One little detail that may have gone unnoticed to most - and after the excitement of the press conference, who can blame them - was this little detail buried in a Nintendo press release:

"It [the Virtual Console] also will be home to new games conceived by indie developers whose creativity is larger than their budgets."

Finally, actual confirmation, after months of hinting, that indie developers will have a home on the Wii. Given that independents are, traditionally, more likely to take risks and expand more creative features of a console's hardware, this could make for some very interesting games.
