Tony Hawks: Downhill Jam - New Info
Revolution Advanced have got their filthy mitts on some new info regarding the latest release in the Tony Hawk franchise - Downhill Jam.
Tony Hawks: Downhill Jam is set to be one of the few Revolution titles that requires you to hold the Revmote horizontally (NES mode). The latest Tony Hawk title is set to be based off of previous Tony Hawk and Neversoft's game engines, although re-worked and largely improved to maintain a fresh, new look.
This ties in with the recently revealed info in Nintendo Power, where the magazine stated that "by using the Revolution controller's motion-sensitivity, racers will be able to turn and boost without touching a button. The game will also feature button combinations to pull off tricks that recall the controls for the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and Tony Hawk's Underground titles."
According to Nintendo Power, Tony Hawk: Downhill Jam will incorporate four-player split-screen multiplayer, eight new racers, as well as eight environments modeled after real-world locations, including Machu Picchu in the Andes and the hills of San Francisco. In-game characters will also get a speed boost when the controller is thrust forward.
Revolution Advanced sources have reassured them that Downhill Jam will feel new and different compared to previous Tony Hawk titles as the game is now being developed by Toys for Bob, founded in 1989 and is now wholly-owned by Activision.
The title is expected to be fully shown at E3, so keep it real with Revo-X2.
