NDS JoWood Goes Budget With G-Star

Publisher JoWood is going for a budget range on the Nintendo DS with their new G-Star line. Two Nintendo DS titles for a low(er) price coming up.

JoWooD Productions announces the launch of its new casual line. G-Stars stands for quality at affordable prices, easy handling and instant feelings of achievements during gaming, combined with moderate system requirements. G-Stars will release about 9 to 12 games each year with a strong focus on PC, PS2 and Nintendo DS in a unique distribution network. In order to satisfy a huge target group, the genres are selected from the most popular like fun-, sports- and action-games. JoWooD's aim is to reach the growing number of casual gamers.

The products of G-Stars are placed in the price segment from € 9.99 to € 29.99 and intended to attract also female players and entire families in addition to traditional casual gamers. Because of JoWooDs dedication to full-price games, the additional way to follow the trend "Good gaming at fair prices" is went in order to enlarge the target groups.

G-Stars has been launched today in all European core markets - Germany, Austria, Switzerland, UK, France and Scandinavia are already covered.

"G-Stars is JoWooD Productions step on a new way of publishing, covering not only products of a strong brand, but also potential Stars of the future", explains Albert Seidl, CEO at JoWooD. "Of course we will continue to produce in our core fields of full-price and community-related products, so we've set together an own team that is working for G-Stars exclusively."

The releases of the G-Stars line in the first half of 2007 will include the game to the movie Flyboys for PC, the great submarine shooter Aquanox for PS2 and two Nintendo DS titles Genius cards and Lifesigns - Hospital Affairs.
