NDS New Harvest Moon Announced

Famitsu announced that a third Harvest Moon will hit the Nintendo DS by the end of the year in Japan. Update The first scans have arrived.

Titled Harvest Moon: The Island I Grew Up On will be third integration of Harvest Moon for the Nintendo DS, the second being Rune Factory. As the title states, the game will take place in an island in corelation to the Wii's version of Harvest Moon, so it's a possibility that there will be some sort of connectivity between the two version. On the island, you will be living with the rest of your family and you have the option of choosing a gender. The movement will strictly be with the touchscreen and the D-Pad will be used to control items. Adapted from Harvest Moon 3 for the GBC, you will again be able to grow rice and possibly more new crops.

Update The first scans have arrived. The first scans of the upcoming game have arrived.

  • I think that the guy character looks the best out of everyone they made. When I am the guy character on the first file I will marry the girl character, and when I am the girl character I will marry the guy character.

  • It looks a lot like Magical Melody except for the character design (thankfully). This one (as well as the Wii version) looks like it will be worth picking up.

  • This game makes me so excited! >w< But, if you're counting Rune Factory as a Harvest Moon installment, wouldn't this technically be the FOURTH installment, or does Harvest Moon DS for Girls just not count as a game? o.0; Anyways, technicalities, technicalities... It's my sincere hope that they fixed in this one the problem that GBC3 had, where if you play as a girl, once you get married, the game ends. x.x;
