NDS What to do with your CRACKED DS lite?

Mad with your crack? Nintendo of America responds.

In the U.S., the reported number of small cosmetic cracks in the plastic hinge of DS Lite systems represents less than 0.02 percent of the total units sold. This cosmetic issue in no way impacts the gameplay or integrity of the DS Lite. Nintendo stands behind the quality of our products and encourages DS Lite owners to contact our Customer Service Department if they are not happy with the functionality of their systems.

  • I think if you return it within 30 (or so) days, the store will refund/replace it anyway.

  • it sure doesnt seem as low as 0.02 if you look around on the internet enough. I checked mine and found out I have the problem too. I just hope its cosmetic and Im trying to not open the ds lite all the way anymore.

  • if its less than 0.02 percent of the units sold, why not replace them? that will cost them, wat, 1000 dollars?

  • This problem put me off buying a DS Lite for now. It's still good to see that Nintendo's customer relations are still on top form.

  • Mad with my crack? Sorry, I don't smoke crack.

  • Like I said before the system was out, the durability of DS Lite cannot be trusted. To shrink the size, something had to go. That is why I am holding onto my NDS. Remember back in the old days when you can drop a Gameboy from second floor and you can still play with it? Those days are gone.

  • "Those days are gone" That's fncking true :( The PStwo is another exemple. But now every technological product is less resistant than before. Look at old TVs still working after 20 years, whereas new ones sometimes die after 5 or 6 years :/ Look at mobile phones, DVD player... Everything is now disposable. I agree with you, the first fat NDS feels much more reliable, and the Lite seems to be more fragile. If it wasn't for those marvelous screens, I'd have never sold my old DS Fat ;) My wife still owns a Fat DS and I like playing on it sometimes, especialy for MKDS because I can't snake with the new + cross of the DS Lite :D
