NDS Pokémon Diamond/Pearl - Wi-Fi Info

Info has arrived over some of the procedure of the Wi-Fi process. Yes, you heard us, friend-codes!

Step 1: Friend Notebook You need someone's friend code first to be able to do anything. The Pokon Centre's basement is the Pokon Wi-Fi Club. Obtain a friend code somehow. Step 2: Register the friend code. Get your partner's friend code (12 digits long), select "Register Friend" in the Friend Notebook then enter it. Step 3: Start WiFi communication! When you and your partner are ready, a Pokon Battle, trade or game can be started. Step 4: Voice Chat Whilst in communication with your partner, regular members can chat and voice chat conveniently. The DS can be used as telephone as it is very speedy and good quality!

Serebii.net also information regarding the entire battle procedure.

Although this may not seem entirely new, but so far it seems as though there is no lobby provided in the game for random matches or for meeting random people to trade. Also, there could be a possibility for secret voice communication between you and your partner on two-on-two battles. More details as they arrive...

  • I'm disappointed that you need friend codes to play online. Can you just have someones friend code without them having yours and still be able to play them? Nintendo needs to sort out this one flaw in their online service as its annoying trying to find a friend code and not always possible to tell if they have yours.

  • Online is supposed to allow you to play against people you don't necessarily know. This friend code thing pretty much ruins that.

  • I understand Nintendo's point on online safety, especially with a game that has an age group as varied as this...but still, the NWC's promise of being 'simple' doesn't = friend codes. =( At least it seems like all the multiplayer options seems availble with this though.
