NDS Two New Reviews

Two brand new sparkling reviews of Nintendo DS titles: NEW Super Mario Bros and X-Men 3: The Official Game.

Several pretty big titles have been released in the past few weeks and we talked in-house reviewer Andrew Blanchard to write you all yet another set of reviews. Whether Andrew will ever grow tired of playing games non-stop, we don't know. What we do know is that he came up with a review of X-Men 3: The Official Game for the Nintendo DS. As in the movie, when the humans find out about a mutant capable of removing other mutants' powers, Magneto raises an army to withstand what he sees as a threat. It's up to you to help out the X-Men (or Magneto) by utilizing their gifted powers.

But Andrew's not the only reviewer we've got. We've also got Ali. Ali was lucky enough to play and review a game many gamers have been eagerly awaiting: NEW Super Mario Bros. Is this the sequel to the franchise everyone was waiting for, or are the rumours about a more-or-less easy title true? Find out in Ali's review of NEW Super Mario Bros!

  • The only complain I have with New Super Mario Bros is that it is slightly too easy. They used the floor design of Mario 3 with the capability of triple jump, wall jump, and ground pound. Most of the stages and coins can be easily passed or obtained without any of those advanced moves, so the is really easy with them. With wall jumps learned, players can climb their way out of small cracks in the floor without dying. So the advanced moves really lower the difficulity of this game. This main game has little replay value but the minigames made up for it. The only challenge of this game is to locate all of the star coins.
