Online retailer EBGames has updated its listings after the recent E3 revelations and started listing Need for Speed: Carbon for the Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance. The title is not yet officially confirmed, but EBGames is rarely wrong.

  • How Come we didnt hear any of this at E3? i mean seriusly E305 we had covrage galore of Most wanted and now this pops out 2 weeks after. wtf EA. i love the series to death. p.s. i'd love to see Asphalt:Urban GT 2 with online on the ds. that would make my life complete. i played AUG2 On the phone and its pure Brilliance. same with the First one on the DS.

  • Araknidkid, Check out Archaic Sealed Heat by Mistwalker. You can even wiki it, although they don't have much information. But you can also lookup pre-rendered graphics and video compression module (Nintendo purchased the module). The reason why no existing company utilizing those technology is the cost, the companies are simply too cheap. Hence, I did my master's degree on video gaming. Hoping one day, I can make a game that can shame all publishers. Try to see if you can find my research paper, it's entited "The Implementation of Artificial Intelligence's Machine Learning Algorithms in Role-Playing Gaming", a.k.a "My First Implementation of Non-Advantaged Learning Project" (My F.I.N.A.L Project).

  • Doubtful. After all Madden05 was pretty decent.

  • "Carbon"? As in "Carbon copy of the bad two versions we've already released?" Sometimes I SWEAR EA is out to kill the DS.

  • I have Need for Speed Underground for the GBA and it is Exactly like its concole brother.

  • E3 is the largest game show in US, but the largest on earth is September's Tokyo Game Show.

  • Publishers always keep stuff back as there's more trade shows throughout the year. E3 is the biggest but it's not the only one.

  • Carbon? oooo SOUNDS cool at least. EA better not blow this one again.

  • But I also agree with you about Asphalt Urban.

  • Maybe Vicarious visons should work on a racing game. From what I've seen of the graphics in Tony hawk: downhill jam and over the hedge, VV knows how to push the DS to it's limits. Somthing I've only seen from NST so far.

  • Actually araknidkid, with the new pre-render video technique (used by Mistwalker in Archaic Sealed Heat) and the video compression technology (developed by Sega), NDS is more than capable of achieving some really amazing graphics, better than PS2 graphics. Also, NDS supports GBA's 24 FPS and DS' 60 ~ 65 FPS refresh rate, which is better than standard television screen. If you play Sonic Dash (Sonic Rush in US), you will get the true feeling of pure speed. Don't blame the console (although I don't think you mean to), blame the developer of softwares that makes the console looks bad. There are so many pointless and worthless games on GBA and NDS, their existance bring shame to NDS console.

  • The last Need 4 Speed on the GBA and DS was awful but with three Christmas Number 1's this is highly likely.

  • I wish Gameloft would give us a sequel to Asphalt: UrbanGT...one with less bugs.

    NPC, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • I highly doubt this will be that good. EA's NFS games for the DS & GBA have been, well, "mediocre".
