Spore Going Handheld?
According to a newly added job-listing Electronic Arts might be interested one or more handheld versions of Spore.
A recently added job-listing at GameDev shows interest in a handheld version of Spore. As the listing describes, the Spore team is looking for an experienced designer that will be responsible for designing, creating and maintaining game systems and content for SPORE Handheld titles.
Spore, one of the big hits at last year's E3 event, was originally thought of by Will Wright (Sim City and The Sims). The game can be described as a The Sims version of microscopic organisms. Start with a single one-cell big microbe, and build up a community of organisms occupying a whole planet or even the entire solarsystem. The original version, set for a release on the PC platform, will even demand players to build everything themselves. From creatures to buildings, everything can be build from elements which, in turn, will be uploaded to a global online database allowing other players to download and extend the elements.
Whether or not the job-listing is aiming for a Game Boy Advance or Nintendo DS version, remains unknown.

I'm looking forward to this game on PC, and if I wanted it on a handheld, it'd have to be DS.

I dont care who the orional soruce is, this is great news for me, if this is on all the handhelds and the DS one used wi-fi..I'dd be in heven...I have been looking out for this game for ages. This is...my favorite EA game...and I want it on my DS.
I want it kept on PC, squeezing all that info into 1 DS cart would mean substantially(sp) cutting back features.

I am not a fanboy of anything, I'm just stating they'd have to cut back features if they wanted it on the DS.
I agree with Ben, I don't think the overall scope of this game can be realized on a handheld. But hell, Spore on the go? Count me in...
