New Marketing Director for Nintendo of Europe Unveiled
Jim Merrick's replacement is unveiled as Nintendo of Europe reveals who will be their new senior marketing director today.
After Jim Merrick's departure from Nintendo in December of 2005, Nintendo of Europe was once again left without a senior marketing director. However today, Nintendo of Europe has confirmed that his replacement will be none other than Laurent Fischer, the now former marketing director of Nintendo France.
In related news, Achim Schmauss also jumps on board as Nintendo's new European brand manager. Schmauss has previously worked with Infogrames and will be responsible for marketing activities of the Nintendo Revolution, as well as the upcoming Gamecube title the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
“Nintendo is moving into a very exciting and innovative time as we expand the definition of gaming and broaden the population of video games players,†Fischer commented. “I am looking forward to the new challenge of working for Nintendo at a European level in this particularly significant period.â€
Lastly, Nintendo of Europe reconfirmed that their next-generation console, code-named the Nintendo Revolution, is still set for a worldwide launch in 2006.
