Majesco Financial Results

Publisher to focus more on the handheld market.

Majesco have recently announced their earnings for the last fiscal year and the figures are disappointing to say the least. The Company reported net revenue of $4.6 million for the 2005 fourth fiscal quarter compared to $45.3 million reported for the same period in 2004. In fact the earnings have been in decline for some time now, which has made the company decide to reposition itself and shift its product strategy away from the premium console game market. Going forward, Majesco will focus primarily on publishing value and handheld video games.

Said Jesse Sutton, "Publishing value priced software and games for handheld systems has historically been one of our strengths. We believe that this strategy is more prudent for Majesco at this time and offers us the most opportunity for success as it requires a relatively low investment in development and marketing."

  It's good to see that they are not yet bankrupted, but to be honest, I didn't like any game that was made by Majesco (or leased by Majesco).

  It's a bit sad when they really published some 'different' titles that should've done well (ex: Psychonauts). Oh well. They are publishing Black & White Creatures for the DS and hopefully more to come.

  ^...misworded: I find this news to be a bit sad and troubling. Majesco is known for publishing 'different/origianl' titles...except the fact that very few bought them such as the critically acclaimed 'Psychonauts'.
