Mario Party DS in Development?

In a recent interview with Shuichiro Nishiya at Hudson Soft, he replied with a question about bringing the Mario Party franchise to the DS.

Q: With its microphone and its two screens, Nintendo DS would be perfect to accomodate a play like Mario Party. Do you intend to carry out a title of the series on Nintendo DS?

A: Shuichiro Nishiya (Hudson Software): The characteristics of Nintendo DS are very gravitational for the series Mario Party. We would thus like to develop a Mario Party for Nintendo DS, as from the moment when we have an enthralling idea to bring to the concept.

  Mario Party would indeed be an EXCELLENT title on the DS and if you could make it properly WIFI, it would be a huge success. Party's biggest problem is that its really no fun without like 3 other people. The GBA version was horrid. Let's see this done right.

  Hopefully they'd add download play, so you only need one cart. I mean, it's not that hard to download a mini-game every turn.

  It's going to be pretty awsome. Although the console ones have worn out, I'm sure Hudson could do something totally fun and different with the DS. Plus with download play (and maybe Nintendo WiFi) it would be pretty sweet.

  I think a Mario Party DS game would be great! :D Hehe, I'd love to play that against my friends/family, and wi-fi/lan wi-fi would suit it perfectly. Hopefully they do it right though, but I'm sure they would! ^_^
