Animal Crossing does impressive debut sales in Japan
After only being out for a week in Japan, Animal Crossing: Wild World manages to sell quite an impressive amount of copies since it's release last Wednesday.
According to Enterbrain, Nintendo has sold 350,000 copies of the NDS title Doubutsu no Mori DS [Animal Crossing: Wild World] during it first week. Released last Wednesday, the game sold about 325,000 copies by Sunday. In turn, sales of the Nintendo DS also surged to about 160,000 units in the same week. There is a huge shortage of the game throughout Japan as Nintendo is struggling to meet the demands for the game. This exceeds all previous reports and expectations of the title and can only mean good things for Nintendo and the DS in the upcoming weeks leading further into the holiday season.
