GBA Mother 3 - Itoi Comments

Shigesato Itoi has revealed new information on the rumoured Mother 3 title. This should make some people get on the streets and cheer...

In a recent posting on his website, Itoi has revealed new information on the long-awaited Mother 3 title. Originally set for a release on the Nintendo 64, the new game in the Earthbound or Mother series is said to be delivered on the GameBoy Advance.

Fansite Starmen.net has translated the message by Itoi, which appears to state that Itoi "decided to make a slightly head-start announcement".

In the translation, Itoi continues with "I've thought to myself, 'It should be all right now that it's this far along,' on many occasions, but I always made sure not to announce anything until I could say that it was 'ABSOLUTELY all right'. At any rate, this time I've decided to try and be reserved about everything. It looks like its release date will be about one season away, and I'm in the middle of doing many work retreats to get it finished. I'm going to work especially hard for a short while longer to get everything done."

With the release only a single season away, Mother 3 for the GameBoy Advance seems to be definately coming. Whether the game will see a US or European release, remains unknown for the time being.
