Play-Yan Update Announced

Nintendo announces a Play-Yan update so MP4 movie playback is available.

Luckily for Play-Yan owners who use their GBASP or DS as a movie player, it seems Play-Yan can be upgraded with firmware updates. Play-Yan will be able to play MP4 movies so true stereo sound is available instead of the current monaural MPEG-4 video format. You'll be able to upgrade your Play-Yan by downloading the update from the Play-Yan website and then placing the file in your SD card.

  Sweet, Nintendo is the only company that allows users to have free upgrade. Unlike Sony, that want players to buy a new GameShark or other software/hardware.

  Sony has free firmware updates for the PSP don't they? And besides, Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft don't support cheat devices such as GameShark.
