NDS More DS Rumbling

Whether it's an accident or not, someone got his DS rumbling again...

Months ago, we already reported on the Nintendo DS recognizing several GBA development cartridges as option packs or rumble packs. A few days ago, we added PlanetGameCube's findings on Metroid Prime Pinball using a rumble pack too. Now someone got his DS rumbling at home...

On GBAdev.org's forums, one of the members tried playing one of the E3 demo's (Table Hockey) and found out that when having the GBA's WarioWare Twisted in the GBA slot, the DS started providing force feedback. The latter indeed contains a small force feedback (or: rumble) system embedded in the GBA cartridge, but until now it was unknown whether this system could be triggered from outside the game.

Whether the access is an accident, or Nintendo is using a standardized register address for controlling option packs remains unknown for the moment, but fact is that Nintendo is once again showing that it is planning to use the GBA slot for more than just GBA-backwards compatibility.
