Tony's Pizza and Nintendo Slice Up a Contest
Redmond, Wash., Nov. 20, 2002 - Nintendo of America Inc. and Tony's pizza are baking an extra large sweepstakes featuring hot prizes like Game Boy Advance video game systems and new Nintendo video games. Specially-marked boxes of Tony's pizza will offer a chance to win nearly 3,000 Game Boy Advance prizes and will include tip cards with secret hints for advancing in newly released Nintendo video games such as Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past our Swords and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
The holiday promotion kicks off during the strongest sales period of the year for both companies and blends together every kid's favorite ingredients - pizza and video games. The sweepstakes begins December 15, 2002, in grocery stores across the country.
"Nintendo and Tony's pizza are delivering the ultimate combo: the world's most popular hand-held video game combined with the world's favorite hand-held food," says Peter MacDougall, executive vice president, sales and marketing, Nintendo of America Inc. "Needless to say, there's a certain well-known Italian plumber who is very pleased to join any campaign involving pizza."

The Prizes:
- 350 first-prize winners will receive a Game Boy Advance hand-held video game system
- 600 second-prize winners will receive Game Boy Advance video games including Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Four Swords and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
- 2,000 third-prize winners will receive a Game Boy Advance Game Link cable
