ALL News Tidbits

A whole bunch of tiny rumours and facts. We save you the trouble of navigating though many newsposts...

First of all a few facts. Nintendo's puzzlegame for the Nintendo DS Polarium (Chokkan Hitofude in Japan, previously known as 'One-Line Puzzle') will hit the US stores on March 14, 2005. In Polarium, it's up to you to draw a route over black and white panels. After drawing the route, those panels will be inverted (white will become black and vice versa). Lines consisting of one single color will then be removed Tetris-style.

We've also added a few GBA games to the database. Pirate Battle and Scurge: Hive both received their individual gamepages with a few facts... and some early screenshots...

Good news for future Australian Nintendo DS owners. Those of you who want to pre-order their DS at EBGames can get a $10 discount using Nintendo of Australia's coupon.

More GBA news came from Natsume. We had reported the existance of Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town before but Natsume confirmed the title together with a new GameCube version (Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life). Just as the new GameCube game, Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town lets you play as a female character. To make it even worse, the games are said to be the 'for girls' versions of the earlier released games. The two games will also be able to be linked up again, allowing villagers to travel between the towns triggering new events and many surprises. Both titles are expected to ship June of 2005.

Time for rumours. Konami of America asked visitors of its website to return on the 27th of January: "If you love games, you don't want to miss this". Since Nintendo of Europe is planning a Nintendo DS press conference (and party) on the same day in Paris, many forums got filled with conspiracy theories on a connection between Konami and Nintendo. "New Metal Gear games for the GameCube and Nintendo DS" was one of the most favorite rumours. However, we think it's far less spectacular. In the previous years, Konami announced something similar. It turned out that the so-called big announcements were simply the revelation of Konami's line-up. With Castlevania DS still not officially announced in the US, it's easy to connect the dots here. Frogger DS and Boktai DS are some of the title we expect to hear from on the 27th too. Update Gamefront is reporting that Konami is planning to announce 5 games: Oz (PS2), Enthusia (PS2), Castlevania (PS2), Castlevania DS (NDS) and Coded Arms (PSP)

The next rumour might be more spectacular on the discussions about the Nintendo DS going online. IGN, even though we still question their rumours after the "Halo Advance"-incident, states in its most recent mailbag that they've been "hearing things". No, we're not trying to say that IGN finally lost its mind, but IGN claims to have picked up some rumours that Nintendo "will finally and very, very soon, reveal its own "Xbox Live" like service for developers to adopt. And the first game out of Nintendo to use this service will be one of those massively killer Nintendo brands that people have been wanting to play online for years"... Pokon? Metroid Prime Hunters? Animal Crossing? We don't know, but we can still remember the claims made by Reggie Fils-Aime and Shigeru Miyamoto about online play...

  • Great news about the DS going online, it would make sense, as Shigsy said in an interview posted on here that the DS would go online sooner than we all thought.
