WIIU Jett Tailfin Coming to Wii U

It's always a little quiet just before E3 but Maximum Games today announced plans to unveil Nintendo's Wii U title, Jett Tailfin, at this year's E3 Event. Created and developed by Hoplite Research and Ilusis Interactive Graphics, Jett Tailfin tells the story of a lovable fish who, accompanied by his friends, competes to win a quirky underwater competition.

A first-of-its-kind racing game, Jett Tailfin allows players a full range of control with multiple shortcuts and additional landscapes as racers attempt to find the best route to the finish line. Players have the option of challenging friends and choosing from a large variety of different types of fish to race, each mimicking true-to-life attributes of real fish. Examples of some available characters are: Phil A. Salmon , Hal Hammerhead , Tim Lapia , and John Sturgeon . Other features include a selection of mini-games such as Clam Ball, Sharks and Minnows, and Fishnet Tag. Additionally, players will attempt to unlock the bonus character, Tom Tsunami - Jett Tailfin's idol and the fastest fish in the world - and have the opportunity to race as the sea legend himself!

Racers will speed through a variety of environments set up as exotic ecosystems, such as Atlantis Metropolis, Hawaiian Islands, Ship Graveyard, Pirate's Island, and more. Sea-loving friends such as electric eels and octopuses will attempt to prevent fish from finishing each race, and are utilized by players to gain advantage over their opponents.

Created by Hoplite Research and Ilusis Interactive Graphics, the characters and effects feature motion-blur shaders and other advanced underwater lighting effects. Combined with family-friendly gameplay and intuitive multiplayer modes, Jett Tailfin will make its Wii U debut as one of the few games appropriate for all ages.

"We are excited to team with Maximum Games, a company that understands innovative gameplay" said Manny Granillo, president of Hoplite Research, LLC. "And we are pleased to put forth a game that players 8 to 80 will enjoy!"
