WIIU Could the Wii U cost $300?

Various reports over the weekend seem to indicate that the Wii U could cost somewhere in the region of $300. The news came to light when a detailed breakdown of the components revealed that manufacture costs would be $180 for the controller with an additional $50 for other elements of the manufacture. Obviously Nintendo wont comment on any speculation but what do you think the Wii U will cost and how much would you be willing to pay?

  • Given that £200 seems to be normal for a handheld now I think £250 - £300 could be viable for the Wii U. Not sure how many they would sell at that price though.

  • Again... another news first leaked by a small uncredited website from anonymous source with no actual data or evidence... There are just way too much rumor this past few weeks. Also keep in mind that hardware cost is very subjective. Wall Street Journal broke down a 3DS and estimated it costs about $200, so when it dropped in price Nintendo loses money. However according to Chinese analysts it costs like $110 to produce a 3DS, the same source said it costs $90 to produce a DS. So keep in mind that only thing we know about Wii U is that no one knows anything about Wii U. Everything is just pure speculation at this point.
