Game Gear Titles hit the eShop This Week
Fans of all things Retro rejoice as the 3DS receives not one but three classic Game Gear titles this week thanks to the handhelds Virtual Console. We've had a few dry weeks but hopefully this is a sign of things to come considering just how vast SEGA's back catalogue is.
Nintendo goes back to the old school this week as three classic SEGA Game Gear games arrive on Nintendo 3DS for the very first time. It's time to revisit old acquaintances as both Sonic the Hedgehog : Triple Trouble and Shinobi are making a welcome return. Remember that with old friends come old foes - Sonic must continue to battle the dangerous Dr. Robotnik as he searches for the Chaos Emeralds, while Joe Musashi, Red leader of the Oboro School of Shinobi, must overcome an evil force emanating from Neo City that has captured your fellow students.
The third classic SEGA Game Gear game, Dragon Crystal , sees you meander through a misty maze crawling with terrifying creatures. Your goal is to find as many useful weapons as possible that will help you defeat your foe and ultimately to escape the maze and a deadly fate.
Check out at the latest Wii Virtual Console and Nintendo DSiWare offering - Proto Man has mysteriously gone berserk in Mega Man 5, and attention to detail is required whilst searching for all the hidden keys in Hints Hunter.
Triple Trouble
(SEGA) Nintendo 3DS
While the evil genius Dr. Robotnik is testing the ultimate destructive weapon, one of his assistants makes a mistake, causing his lab to explode and scattering five Chaos Emeralds across the planet Mobius. Sonic and Tails spin-dash to rescue them. Tricky
Knuckles streaks right behind, with sticky-fingered Nack the Weasel joining the hunt. It's a triple-threat race to see who will get the Emeralds first. Loop, blast and super spin-dash through six zones, five bonus rounds and a wild 3-D stage.
Shinobi
(SEGA) Nintendo 3DS
Destroy the enemies with bombs, shurikens, a crescent blade and more. Use the magic of the ninja to wreak havoc with the force of a tornado or the blinding glow of lightning. When all else fails, turn your body into a living bomb and explode with concussive damage. Do not stop until the City of Fear is annihilated. Are you ready for the challenge of Ninja warfare?
Dragon Crystal
(SEGA) Nintendo 3DS
Blaze a trail through the treacherous labyrinths of four magic kingdoms - collecting weapons, armour, magic books, potions, rods and rings as you go. Fend off enormous insects, monstrous centipedes and sneaky sand sharks. Pass through 30 worlds in search of the Magic Goblet. There's no way out of this musical nightmare...until you find it.
Hints Hunter
(CIRCLE Ent.) Nintendo 3DS
Hints Hunter is a game you can play anytime and anywhere. The objective is simply to find the keys hidden around the game. To do this, you will have to work out the meaning of the hints in each level. Make sure you pay close attention to all the details of the game - even think about the name of a level or a tiny flower.
Mega Man 5
(CAPCOM) Wii
Proto Man, once the trusted brother of Mega Man, has mysteriously gone berserk, kidnapping Dr Light; forcing Mega Man to go on the offensive. Assisted by his new sidekick Beat, a robotic bird, and his faithful robo-dog Rush, Mega Man must battle through eight thrilling levels and defeat the Robot Masters lurking within. Defy gravity in Gravity Man's stage, chip away the defences in Stone Man's stage, and catch some surf in Wave Man's stage - all before the final showdown of the century.
