WII GAME Cancels The Last Story Pre-Orders

High Street retailer GAME have had a considerable amount of negative press recently regarding their inability to stock the latest titles due to a variety of disputes with distributers regarding their financial situation. Now it seem to be affecting gamers themselves and anyone who has pre-ordered the limited edition of The Last Story has received an e-mail informing them that it's been cancelled although they were offered their £5 deposit back.

  • Sorry guys, I am hoping this won't happen to US release. Pre-order just doesn't mean much anymore this nowadays. I remember when I pre-ordered Wild Arms 2, it got pushed back for a year and half.

  • US release is done by Xseed instead of Nintendo. So it will be limited/targeted anyway- but enough for people who order it. UK release expecially with Game has been ruined because of their financial situation. I've heard some been switched to the normal edition, others cancled etc.

  • The latest news is that they cancelled The Last Story all together, not just the pre-order. They have also cancelled some Vita games. Saying they need to clean the shelf space for the recent releases on PS3, so they don't bother with Wii and Vita. Vita is a stretch. Granted it's not a big hit, but you should at least carry the hardware to give people a chance. The Last Story on the other hand is unforgivable. People already pre-ordered it. As in all you have to do is to satisfy that amount and you can make your customer happy with earning some money to help solve this "financial situation". I would like to think in the time of financial trouble, a guaranteed sale that's already recorded would be better than gamble on newer titles.
