Wii U to launch worldwide in 2012

Nintendo has announced during their resent earnings conference in Japan an outline of launch plans for the Wii U console.

Mentioned regions by Iwata where the usual Japan, America and Europe, however Iwata also made key acknowledgement of the Australian region by mentioning it specifically during the conference.

A specific date will be announced later in the year for those regions, which is good news for fans who thought the systems launches would run into 2013. Nintendo also promises more heavy hitting Nintendo 3DS titles during the lead up and beyond the Wii U launch.

During the earnings conference in Japan today Nintendo also lowered their expecations for the financial year as well as lowering shipment targets for the Wii and 3DS.
