DS = Nitro?

According to the Online Product Manager of EA Netherlands, Martijn van der Meulen, the Nintendo DS will eventually be called the Nitro...
As van der Meulen writes on his weblog:
"Nintendo has had a website for several years, for the people who develop games for their systems. On this website, and on the part where I don't need to log in for, the name Nitro is being communicated. The Nitro? I can't say too much about it (NDA's) but I?m sure it's pretty obvious now for some people"
The website mentioned is the well known developers-site (and forum) Wario World, which indeed shows three categories: Gamecube Development, Nitro Development and GBA Development. However, if one digs deeper into the developers-vault, various pages still show Nintendo DS as the name for the product (such as the page to become an authorized DS developer)
*update* It looks like Nitro was the codename for the DS...
Our generous host (and mother-site) Cube-Europe noticed that MVC UK reported the fact that Nintendo spoke about the matter and have dismissed it as false. They stated that the "Nintendo Nitro" was simply the codename for the machine while in planning stages, much like Dolphin was for the Nintendo GameCube.
They also stated that the Nintendo DS has yet to have an official name and is still being called by it's current codename.
*update 2* Nintendo even changed the logo for Nitro on the developers-page to Nintendo DS now.
